Handwoven objects, each one numbered, named, and documented. Some are available now. Others can be made for you. All of them are permanent.
The designs come from young Albanian designers and artists.
Thurje is not a design studio that outsources weaving. It is a workshop that opens its loom to designers — specifically to young Albanian designers and artists who work in the contemporary visual language and have no other way to see their work made permanent in textile form.
Each collection is the work of one designer, interpreted by one or more master weavers in Korça. The designer brings the idea. The weaver brings the technique. The piece is the record of what happened between them.
This is what Thurje means by the bridge — the digital line becomes a knot. The screen becomes wool.
